A quick update for those of you waiting for their £10K/£25K local authority grant.
Quick reminder:
- You receive a £10K local authority grant if your business benefits from small business rates or rural rates relief
- You receive £25K local authority grant(s) if you have business premises with a rateable value of between £15K and £51K and are in the retail, hospitality or leisure sectors (full list here).
Most local authorities have now uploaded grant claim forms to their websites. DCC and AVBC are a bit behind the curve but got their online claims sorted yesterday.

Give us a call if you struggle with t’interweb.
Those of you within the ambit of DDDC are being sent a letter inviting you to make an application by emailing your claim to the council.
Please drop us a line when you get your payment; we want to see how quickly those first payments arrive from different councils.
Don’t forget that all of you who qualify for these grants also benefit from a 12 month business rates holiday. For the rest of you it’s business rates business as usual, with those demands landing on the doorstep regardless of whether or not the virus has forced you to shut the gates, and this really needs addressing.
